Swift School Classroom Helpers – Volunteer Opportunity!
We are happy to announce a new volunteer opportunity for IWA Members! Swift School
has taken on many new students this year, especially with the continuing wave of
refugee families arriving in Chicago. Volunteers are needed to assist teachers in a
variety of tasks, whether with small groups of students or in other supportive activities in
the classroom. No special skills are required!
Our first day will be Thursday, February 8. Volunteers can sign up for 2-hour shifts. The
shifts are: 9-11AM and 12:30-2:30PM. Four volunteers are allowed per shift. Going
forward, shifts will be on the first and second Thursdays of the month.
George B. Swift School, a Chicago Public School attended by many immigrant and
refugee children, has been a major recipient of our IWA philanthropy initiatives. Swift
School is in the Edgewater neighborhood and easily accessible by public transportation.
Street parking is also available.
Please sign up by Sunday, April 7th.

hope you will join us for this important and meaningful volunteer opportunity!
