Welcome to "The Splendors of Qing Imperial Attire" program! In this program, we
will take you on a journey through the fascinating history of silk and its
significance in Chinese culture and showcase the exquisite craftsmanship and
artistic traditions of Qing imperial attire.
We will also delve into the symbolism and meanings behind these garments'
different designs and colors. Join us as we uncover the splendors of Qing imperial
attire and gain a deeper understanding of the Qing Dynasty's culture, history, and
artistry. For those interested in Qipao, the traditional cutting pattern will be shared,
and get ready to DIY your own!
Guests are welcome! It will be an interactive journey for the audience
throughout the presentation and a DIY Qipao opportunity at the end of the
program. The colorful paper will be provided for in-person audience participation
(please bring your own scissors); the Zoom audience can find any paper to
participate virtually.
