Speaker: Mina Patel, with her background in social justice, education, and civic engagement, brings a creative light to under-served voices in her film Between the Silence. It explores the epidemic of loneliness and yearning for belonging through the lives of two socially isolated immigrant women. She combines her Art of Belonging workshops and the film screening to spark conversation on creating meaningful gatherings to cultivate a sense of belonging and alleviate social isolation. After viewing her film, she will lead a discussion on creating community and the universal desire to belong.
