From Gay Paris to Hollywood Glitz – One Woman’s Amazing Adventure!
DreamLand: Book Discussion With French Author Martine Couralet-Laing
(Program in English)
Join us for a very special program by French Author Martine Couralet Laing who will discuss her experiences of moving from France to Hollywood life in Los Angeles. The Book “DreamLand” tells us about Los Angeles, where everything goes further: Actresses who practice daydreaming, cemeteries which are for sale, anti-nuclear shelters around swimming pools, salads which induce childbirth. But also, the book tells us about the amazing sunlight which is so beautiful, soft, like nowhere else, and which bathes the city in true sweetness. She also tells us about nature in the city, overflowing from everywhere which, in the tradition of the great American West, must be shared with coyotes, deer, raccoons…. It is a story composed of forty real-life stories that let us feel this freedom which makes everything seem possible in Hollywood.
