Program: "TURKISH HENNA NIGHT"

Presenter: Nila Bayvas, IWA President

The Henna Night or "Kina Gecesi" is a traditional bridal party ritual in Turkish culture that generally takes place one or two days before the wedding ceremony. Kina Gecesi is celebrated with close family members and friends before tying the knot. During the henna night a paste made from dried henna leaves is used to paint intricate patterns on the hands of the bridal party. Thanks to our presenters we will have a glimpse of this traditional experience with authentic costumes, apparel, music, food, and even have our hands adorned with henna.
