Program (in English): “Not all waves of immigrants are alike.”
Learn what life was like for 7 Polish immigrants from the 1950s whose families had been deported, displaced, and exiled as the result of WWII. Journey with them from Poland to Soviet Russia and Siberia and Germany, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and then to India, Africa, Italy, England, and finally to America.
Presenter: Author Donna Urbikas presents her talk given last year at a conference in Poland at the Museum of Immigration in Gdynia regarding the North American Polish diaspora. Her presentation includes video-taped interviews with these immigrants.
