Program: "Thinking About Women and Gender in Athenian Drama"
Dr. Tzanetou will provide an introduction to the theater in Athens and discuss the way women were depicted relative to the historical and social realities of the time. She will also discuss how scholars then and now approach women in tragedy and comedy to address contemporary social and political issues.
