Community Outreach: Culture in a Suitcase

Culture in a Suitcase is an educational outreach program for Chicago-area schools, where IWA members from around the world bring their knowledge and materials—artifacts, special clothing, everyday objects, works of art—to share with students and teachers.

In the last year, IWA members made visits to Swift, Talcott, Ogden, Clinton, St. Matthias, and Pulaski elementary schools, where they presented programs on Turkey, Japan, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Australia, and Jamaica.

Many additional options are possible since IWA includes members from the following countries:
